FIELD: electricity.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to the sphere of electrochemical protection for underground, underwater and surface metal structures from corrosion, in particular to protection of steel pipelines. The anode earthing electrode comprises anode made as a cylinder and a contact unit. The anode is made of titanium alloy with electric active coating of manganese dioxide from outside and inside and connected to tubular bimetal current tap of the contact unit consisting of titanium alloy from outside and of copper from inside for the purpose of electric switching with current conductive copper cable. The contact unit is sealed by polymer material and heat-shrinkable tubing.
EFFECT: reduction of transient resistance at contact points of the anode earthing electrode, reduction of ohmic resistance of the anode earthing electrode at increase of its stability, improvement of catalytic activity of the anode earthing electrode surface and stability in ground mineralised environment and sea water with potential operation at high current loads up to 1000 A/m2.
