BATTERIES OF BIOMEDICAL DEVICE WITH ELECTRODEPOSITED CATHODES Russian patent published in 2019 - IPC A61F9/00 G02C7/04

Abstract RU 2682482 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to medicine. Contact lens contains: electroactive component made with the possibility of changing the focal characteristics of the contact lens; battery containing an anode current lead, cathode current lead, anode, electrolyte, and cathode, cathode containing electroplated cathode chemicals, cathode containing electrolytic manganese dioxide; and biocompatible sealant layer, wherein the biocompatible sealant layer seals the electroactive component and the battery. Contact lens battery contains: anode current lead, anode current lead being the first metal tube, closed at the first end; anode, the anode chemical being contained inside the first metal tube; electrolyte; cathode current lead, and the cathode current lead is a wire; ceramic end cap with the first sealing surface, which tightly interacts with the first metal tube, and second sealing surface that tightly interacts with the cathode current lead; cathode, the cathode chemical substance being electrodeposited to the cathode current lead, wherein the cathode contains electrolytic manganese dioxide; and sealing material placed in the gap between the first sealing surface and the first metal tube. Method of manufacturing a battery for a contact lens, comprising: obtaining a cathode current collector; roughening the surface of the cathode current lead; placing the cathode current lead in a chemical bath containing manganese salt; placing a galvanic electrode in a chemical bath; establishing the electric potential at the cathode current lead and the galvanic electrode, this electric potential causes electrochemical deposition of manganese dioxide on the cathode current lead; and assembling a cathode current lead with electrodeposited manganese dioxide together with the anode, anode current lead and electrolyte.

EFFECT: use of this group of inventions will improve the processing and configuration of the cathode for use in biocompatible batteries.
