SUBSTANCE: invention relates to means of monitoring event metrics for social networks. Metric-based events are determined using a MBESN system. When an event occurs in a social network, such as a corporate social network, a notification of the event is generated in an event web channel of a social network service. The notification includes a name associated with a threshold value and a user name associated with an actual value. The importance of an event is determined by analysing comments from the social network service.

EFFECT: coordinating actions in social networks through notifications of metric-based events.
