FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to solid inorganic composition for reduction of content of dioxins and furanes, as well as heavy metals, in particular metal mercury, present in flue gases, method of obtaining such composition and its application for reduction of content of dioxins and furanes, as well as heavy metals, in particular mercury, present in flue gases. Composition contains solid sorbing substance, representing inorganic compound, preferably non-functionalised. Said inorganic compound is selected from a number of phyllosilicates of the group "palygorskite-sepiolite" by Dana's classification, and said inorganic compound is doped with halogenide salt and preserves its initial crystalline structure and said halogenide salt in terms of dry substance is present in amount from 0.5 wt % to 20 wt % with respect to composition weight. Said halogenide salt represents alkali metal halogenide, alkali earth metal halogenide or similar compound.

EFFECT: provision of simultaneous and effective reduction of content of dioxins and heavy metals, in particular in gaseous state, present in flue gases, with application of the same inorganic compound, manufacturing and introduction of which are simple and safe.
