FIELD: chemistry; combustion.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a mixture and a method using such a mixture to reduce mercury emissions from a combustion gas stream. Method involves combining components consisting of ammonium bromide or calcium bromide salt and activated carbon, obtained from wood or coconut shell, at temperature below 150 °C, and formation of a composition suitable for reducing mercury emissions from a stream of combustible gas, which has point of initial oxidation (PIO) of at least approximately 50 °C higher than point of initial oxidation of activated carbon.
EFFECT: invention provides effective reduction of mercury emissions from streams of combustible gas.
