FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to solid mineral composition for removal of heavy metals, in particular, mercury, in waste gases. Solid composition contains non-functionalised halide salt-doped mineral substance in powder-like form, the surface of which, accessible for waste gases, is partially or completely covered with halide salt, and which is selected from the group, consisting of halloysite, calcium or magnesium hydroxides, and their mixtures, with composition containing 0.5-20.0 wt % of said halide salt counted per dry substance. Method for obtaining composition includes provision of mineral substance, selected from the group, consisting of halloysite, calcium or magnesium hydroxides, and their mixtures, provision of halide salt and bringing in contact said mineral substance and said halide salt with formation of mineral substance, doped with halide salt.
EFFECT: achieved is effective reduction of content of heavy metals in wide range of temperatures of waste gases with application of completely solid mineral substance, obtaining and application of which is simple and safe.
