FIELD: transport.

SUBSTANCE: proposed invention relates to device for prevention of elevator rope deflection. The device contains plate (8) for rope engagement, rotating unit, holder (3) for switch mounting and base frame of the said rotating unit. The mentioned rotating unit is suspended under the mentioned plate (8) to engage rope by means of the mentioned base frame of rotating unit, and emergency switch (4) is suspended under the mentioned plate (8) to engage rope by means of the holder (3) for switch mounting. In this structure, the base frame of rotating unit contains immovable plate (6) and resilient support. One end of the mentioned immovable supporting plate (6) is rigidly connected with the mentioned plate (8) for rope engagement, and its other end is hinged on rotating unit (2) by means of articulated pivot (7). The mentioned resilient support contains threaded rod (1) and compression spring (5), enveloping the mentioned threaded rod. When pressure is applied to rotating unit to provide its rotation around articulated pivot the compression plate applies pressure to movable contact of emergency switch (4).

EFFECT: device is able to automatically switch off power supply for elevator stopping caused by steel rope tearing when elevator cabin is moving to provide safety of elevator operation.
