FIELD: power industry.

SUBSTANCE: by movement of a working element of a nuclear reactor control and protection system the reactor is moved from a state close to critical to a subcritical state. This operation is repeated twice; one movement is performed at rod movement speed V1, and the other one at speed V2(V1≠V2). As per signals of a detector used for control of a reactor neutron flux, which are recorded at the movement interval of the working element in each of the movements, and reactivity values obtained by solution of a reverse kinetics equation, there calculated is a coefficient of non-uniform distribution of the neutron flux in the core zone shaping a detector signal; correction for reactivity is calculated, which eliminates a method error of determination of effectiveness of the working element, which is determined by spatial reactivity effect.

EFFECT: improving accurate determination of working element effectiveness.
