FIELD: engines and pumps.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in engine building. A four-stroke internal combustion engine includes crank shaft 10 with a drive sprocket, a gas distribution system made in head (8) of cylinders, a fuel-and-air mixture inlet system, a combustion product exhaust system, at least one cylinder (1) with a piston installed in it and a combustion system with ignition plug (1) installed on each end face of the cylinder. The gas distribution system is made in the form of two distribution shafts (14) and (15) with driven sprockets (28) and (30), which are installed in cylindrical bores in head (8) of cylinders and kinematically connected via circuit (31) to crank shaft (10). The first and the second distribution shafts (14) and (15) provided with axial channels and radial inlet and outlet holes, the number of which corresponds to the number of cylinders. Opposite each piston in the head of cylinders there is at least one inlet and outlet hole. Openings connect at regular intervals the working cavity of each cylinder (1) to fuel-and-air mixture inlet system (12), which is performed with the first distribution shaft (14), and combustion product exhaust system (13), which is performed with the second distribution shaft (15). In the side section of circuit (31) there installed is the first chain tension device (33) with manual adjustment of its tension. In the section of chain (31) between distribution shafts (14) and (15) there installed is the second chain tension device (35) with a controlled drive. Driven sprockets have the same diameter and are larger by two times than diameter of the drive sprocket.
