FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to tracking in medical procedures. The method comprises the stages, whereat: orientation data are received from an orientation sensor, which is integrated with a medical device; the orientation data are received by a remote processor; the medical device is advanced along the patient's structures towards a target; orientation of the medical device is sensed in relation to the structures on the basis of the orientation data; the structure images are real-time captured with the use of the medical device; and the captured images and orientation of the medical device in relation to the structures are displayed on a monitor operationally connected to the above processor.
EFFECT: higher accuracy of spacing the surgical device and reducing the length of the procedure.
