SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to medical equipment, namely to means of beam radiotherapy with visual control. In the method, the medical instrument contains a magnetic resonance imaging system, configured to obtain magnetic resonance data from a subject within an imaging zone, wherein the magnetic resonance imaging system has a first coordinate system, an external beam radiotherapy system, configured to irradiate the target zone, wherein the target zone is within the imaging zone, and the external beam radiotherapy system has a second coordinate system, a radiation beam generation system configured to generate a high energy radiation beam having therapeutic effect, a radiation beam detection system capable of obtaining radiation beam detection data describing the radiation beam in the second coordinate system, a memory for storing machine executable commands, a processor, wherein the execution of commands instructs the processor to receive planning data describing a spatially dependent radiation dose in the target zone, to generate commands for external beam radiotherapy control using the spatially dependent dose of radiation, to control the external beam radiotherapy system to irradiate the target zone using the external beam radiotherapy system control commands, to generate the radiation beams using the radiation beam generation system, to measure the radiation beam detection data using the radiation beam detection system, to obtain the magnetic resonance imaging data using the magnetic resonance imaging system, to generate a magnetic resonance image using the magnetic resonance image data, to determine a registration of the magnetic resonance image to the radiation beam detection data, to calculate a mapping between the first coordinate system and the second coordinate system using the registration, and to modify the external beam radiotherapy system control commands using the mapping, wherein the radiation beam detection system comprising a portal imaging system to obtain a subject’s portal image, while the portal image is transferred by a beam of high energy radiation, wherein the radiation detection data comprises a portal image, and the execution of instructions further instructs the processor to at least partially compute the correspondence by aligning the portal image with the magnetic resonance image. This method is carried out by using the medical instrument.
EFFECT: use of inventions allows to increase the accuracy of control of the radiation of the target zone.
