FIELD: transport.
SUBSTANCE: device for stopping cabin of elevator travelling up or down along guides installed in hoist compartment includes the first and the second mounting bases installed at opposite sides of the cabin, the first and the second guiding devices, speed regulator installed on the first base and catchers installed on the first and the second mounting bases. Speed regulator has a rope passing around it and detects cabin overspeed. The catcher is vertically aligned with guiding device on mounting base and stops elevator cabin by means of friction interaction with elevator guide which passes through channel formed in each of the catchers and guiding device. The catcher makes elevator cabin to stop by means of interaction with the guide if speed regulator detects cabin overspeed. Lifting system includes elevator cabin and units of above-described device for cabin stopping.
EFFECT: operation reliability and structural compactness.
