SUBSTANCE: distance to a given target is determined based on measurement of the response delay time at the output of a second matched filter for a specifically generated (based on echo signal response at the output of a first matched filter) auxiliary composite signal, wherein the duration of the response at the output of the second matched filter is considerably shorter than the duration of the echo signal response at the output of the first matched filter.

EFFECT: high accuracy of determining distance to a target.
