SONAR WITH ECHO SIGNALS LISTENING PATH Russian patent published in 2018 - IPC G01S15/00

Abstract RU 2649655 C1

FIELD: acoustics.

SUBSTANCE: sonar with the echo-signals listening path belongs to the hydro-acoustic equipment and can be used to accurately convert the echo-signal spectrum of targets detected by the active sonar and their classification by ear by the sonar operator. Task of the proposed invention is to accurately convert the echo signal spectrum and its convenient representation for the sonar operator in the form of output audio information, providing increase in the reliability of the classification of targets by ear. To ensure said technical result, a multichannel analog-to-digital converter, a directivity characteristic generator, target echo signal envelope extracting and storing unit, a control and synchronization unit, a target echo signal transmission unit, acoustic spectrum oscillator, wherein the spectrum transfer unit consists of a multiplying quadratic digital-to-analog converter and a frequency-controlled sinusoidal voltage generator.

EFFECT: technical result of the proposed invention consists in accurate converting of the sonar target echo signal to the kind that is most convenient for the operator to perceive for echo-signal classification by ear.
