FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: disclosed is a method of removing deposits and biocontaminants from membrane elements of reverse osmosis and nanofilter apparatus by passing a high-speed gas emulsion stream in sodium chloride solution with concentration of 0.5-50 g/dm3 with gas flow rate of 0.1-120 dm3/(s m2) through the cross-section of a membrane element of a liquid on the concentrate channel of a membrane module. To remove microbiological contaminants, pH in the fed liquid is kept in the range of 9-14, and in the range of 1-3 to remove inorganic contaminants.
EFFECT: achieving virtually complete removal of contaminants within a few minutes instead of a 12-hour chemical washing procedure as before.
