FIELD: measurement equipment.
SUBSTANCE: screen attenuation measurement unit includes a screened measurement chamber, a generator and a receiver. With that, the chamber is formed with two speakers located on a horizontal plane, between which a connection frame from a metal strip is installed. In the frame there are side slots through which two microwave cables are passed and connected to a test device, loads and the receiver. Dimensions of sides of the connection frame coincide with dimensions of aperture of the speakers, the tail parts of which are fixed with supports. A spectrum analyser is used as a receiver, and the generator is made in the form of a frequency synthesiser. The screen attenuation measurement method supposes measurement of a reference level of power and a level of power penetrated through connectors inside the measurement chamber. When a working range of frequencies is set on the generator and the receiver, it is considered that the value of power level of proper noise of the receiver comprises not more than minus 100 dBm. Then, the signal is supplied from the generator, a maximum value of the reference signal is fixed, the receiver and one load is re-connected by having connected the receiver to the test device and the load to the output of the measurement chamber, the signal is supplied from the generator, level of power is fixed, which has penetrated through articulated connectors, and the screen attenuation value is determined.
EFFECT: reduction of overall dimensions, and improvement of accurate measurement.
