SUBSTANCE: contactless radar level indicator for measurement of level of liquid radioactive waste built on the principle of pulse ultrabroadband radiolocation, comprising an antenna, a signal generator, a receiver with a comparator, a unit of processing with a time-digital converter and an interface, is made with division into a transceiving microwave module and a digital processing unit. The transceiving microwave module is made on a radiation-resistant electronic-component base, comprises a generator of short-pulse signals and a receiver of reflected signals and is arranged together with the antenna on the reservoir. The digital unit of processing is connected to the microwave module with the help of a cable and is located outside the area of radiation coverage.

EFFECT: possibility of contactless measurement of level of liquid radioactive waste in NPP reservoirs with high accuracy, reliability and validity.
