FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: electric sensitivity and electric instability levels are detected. Electric stimulation is conducted through an electrode applied onto eyelids exposed to rectangular pulse train groups having the following parameters: pulse length 10 ms, pulse number in a train 5, train interval 1 s, train number in a group 30, group interval 30 s, group number for each eye 4. Therapeutic current amplitude is specified to be equal to one and a halve electric instability levels; therapeutic current frequency is specified to be 5-10 Hz lower than electric instability. ESOM-Micro individual stimulator is used; stimulation parameters are introduced into its channels for each eye individually. The treatment starts with the 10-day electric stimulation to be continued for another 10 days if the visual perception tends to stabilise and improve; the electric stimulation is repeated three months later.
EFFECT: method enables providing more effective visual function recovery ensured by specifying the electric stimulation parameters taking into account patient's individual electric sensitivity and instability.
