FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: method involves synchronous recording of vibrational displacement and dynamic force of a sound wave emitted from a whistle source at its peak frequency in at least four points of the chest surface by means of an acoustic sensor, a position of which in space and in a relation of the individual's chest is unknown. An acoustic intensity is determined at the peak whistle frequency; real Re(W) and imaginary Im(W) parts of the acoustic intensity are related (C); a distance (r) from each specified point of the chest to the whistle source is determined taking into account an emitter type (a monopole, a dipole or a quadrupole). A location and a spread of locations of the whistle source are determined for each of three emission types separately with the use of differential distance methods; the whistle source is typed so as to have the least location spread, whereas its location is presented in the form of point or interval point in the three-dimensional space.
