FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to ophthalmology, and can be used for treating glaucomatous optic neuropathy. For this purpose neuromidin is administered intramuscularly in a dose of 1 ml of a 0.5% solution one time per day, the treatment course constitutes 10 days, after that in 20 mg tablets 2 times per day, the course of treatment constitutes 20 days; the course repetition rate is more than one time per year.
EFFECT: method makes it possible to improve vision acuity and reduce intraocular pressure in patients with primary glaucoma due to a direct stimulating impact of the medication on the impulse conduction by nerve fibres, interneuronal and neuromuscular synapses in a combination with its simplicity and availability.
