A wireless communication method for execution by a mobile station in a mobile communication network comprises steps of: receiving, from the network, a first mobile station identifier while executing a ranging operation in which the mobile station participates; using the first mobile station identifier to extract contents of at least one message received from the network while executing the ranging operation; receiving a second mobile station identifier after completing the ranging operation; and using the second mobile station identifier other than the first mobile station identifier to extract contents of at least one message received from the network after completing the ranging operation.
