SUBSTANCE: disclosed is a method implemented in a base station, used in a wireless communication system. The method includes steps of transmitting, to user equipment (UE), an indication of the transmission type of an enhanced physical downlink control channel (ePDCCH) The transmission type of the ePDCCH comprises either localised transmission or distributed transmission, and an indication of the number of pairs of physical resource blocks (PRB) allocated for the ePDCCH transmission is transmitted to the UE, wherein the indication of the number of pairs of PRB allocated for the ePDCCH transmission is transferred in 2 or 3 bits.
