FIELD: communication.

SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to radio communication. Method of determining resources which must be decoded by UE for extraction of physical downlink control channels. Method is carried out in UE or eNB and includes following steps: i. determining initial position of segment of resources in one pair of physical resource blocks; ii) determining the interval between two of said segments; and iii) determining a set of segments in given multiple pairs of physical resource blocks according to said initial position and said interval as resources, which must be decoded. Based on such principle eNB and UE may determine location of all resources for EPDCCH, specifically search area is determined.

EFFECT: technical result is balance between number of blind decoding instances and scheduling flexibility in eNB in EPDCCH search area.
