SUBSTANCE: invention is a mobile broadband wireless communication technology in which transmissions from base stations to mobile stations are sent using orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM), and characterizes systems and methods that relate to transmission and reception of transmission in the case where there is overlap between resource elements for transmission and reserved resource elements. In some embodiments, a radio access network node for a cellular network is disclosed, the radio access network node comprising a transceiver, processor and memory storing instructions executable by the processor, by means of which the radio access network node is driven to transmit, via the transceiver, transmitting on the downlink to the wireless device using one or more physical resource blocks (PRBs) that contain reserved resource elements (REs), by puncturing the transmission on the downlink in the positions of the reserved REs. In some embodiments, the downlink transmission is a transmission on an enhanced physical downlink control channel (EPDCCH) or transmission on a physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH). In addition, in some embodiments, the reserved REs are REs used for one or more CSI-RSs.

EFFECT: overlap of signals is eliminated.
