FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention may be used for the manufacture of welding, cutting and, in many cases, hard-surfacing electrodes. The electrode coating compound comprises titanium dioxide, ferromanganese, marble, cellulose, kaolin, talcum, iron powder, modifying agent, and ore material, i.e. middlings from the Tugansk ore mining and processing plant. The above middlings comprise titanium dioxide, zirconium dioxide, hafnium dioxide, niobium pentoxide, vanadium pentoxide, chromium oxide (Cr2O3), ceroids, lanthanoids and rock-forming minerals. The total amount of titanium dioxide and oxides of other elements from periodic groups IVa and Va are specified within the electrode coating compound.
EFFECT: compound enhances mechanical characteristics, performance and workability of the electrodes.
