FIELD: mechanical engineering; electric arc welding materials. SUBSTANCE: electrode for welding low carbon steels consists of steel rod and coating of the following composition, mass%: 45-54% of titanium dioxide; 12-14% of talc; 6-14% of mica; 6-11.5% of marble; 11-16% of ferrum-manganese-titanium alloy; 4-6.5% of cellulose and binder of 25-30% of mass of dry charge. Coating mass coefficient is 36-40. Binder is introduced in form of nonclarified product of lixiviation of opal-cristobalite rock, and its undissolved sediment plays the part of processing addition. Electrode can use, as component containing titanium dioxide, ilmenite concentrate, rutile concentrate, titanium slag and other components containing 35-100 mass % of titanium dioxide. Dry charge is prepared, following the adopted method of manufacture of coated electrodes, by breaking and grinding coating materials and mixing dry charge with binder and processing addition. Noclarifed product of lixiviation of opal-cristobalite rock is used as binder. Undissolved sediment of this product in amount of 4-7% of mass of dry charge is used as processing addition. EFFECT: enhanced quality of electrode. 3 cl, 2 tbl
