FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in manual arc welding of parts and structures of carbon and low alloy structural steels in construction, oil-and-gas industry, etc. Proposed electrode flux contains components in the following ratio in wt %: limestone - 29.2-35.8, fused component - 16.4-23.9, rutile or titanium dioxide - 13.7-14.2, fluor spar - 10.8-12.8, feldspar - 6.8-8.7, ferromanganese - 6.9-9.5 and kaolin - 5.2-6.1. Fused component represents a synthetic mineral alloy and includes the components in their following ratio in wt %: silicon oxide - 38-39, aluminium oxide - 22-24, oxide of iron (III) - 12-14, calcium oxide - 10-12, magnesium oxide - 9-10, potassium oxide and/or sodium oxide - 3-5. Composition of electrode flux material is developed on the basis of available, cheap mineral stock of the Perm region.
EFFECT: easy initiation and stable firing of arc, high quality weld seam.
