FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: monochromator includes a first polariser, an acousto-optical cell, a second polariser and a rotary prism which is capable of returning an optical beam to the second polariser. An input beam successively passes through part of the first polariser, part of the acousto-optical cell and part of the second polariser. The rotary prism enables to return the beam into the monochromator such that the beam successively passes through the adjacent part of the second polariser, the acousto-optical cell and the first polariser. The first polariser operates as the output polariser.
EFFECT: reduced power consumption, easy manufacture and setup of the monochromator.
