FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, oncology, and aims for diagnosing minor breast cancer accompanying fibrocystic breast disease. An X-ray mammography is performed in females suffering fibrocystic breast disease. The diagnostically significant X-ray symptoms are detected: presence or absence of high-density breast mass lesions (HDBMLs). If observing the HDBMLs, weight factors are assigned to the following symptoms: contour radiance of the tumour node; local displacement of the mammary gland; transition type of microcalcifications; round shape of microcalcifications. The absence of the HDBMLs indicates: transition type of microcalcifications; round shape of microcalcifications; local displacement of the mammary gland; average shape of microcalcifications. The derived weight factors are summed up to produce a value, and a probability of risk of minor breast cancer is calculated by formula. The value is used to predict a low risk or a high risk of detection of minor breast cancer.

EFFECT: method enables providing higher accuracy and information value of the prediction, increases a rate of detection of minor forms of the disease, reduces a rate of disability and lethality by determining the diagnostically significant X-ray symptoms.
