FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to machine building and may be used for producing large-sized springs by hot winding. This process comprises feed and heating of steel rod to be wound in inductor to preset temperature and quenching of the spring. Temperature is stabilized in thermostat over the rod length to wind the spring on spinning mandrel displacing axially. Spring is removed from the mandrel and dipped in quenching device at the rate that allows a stable structure and properties of the spring over its entire length. Invention covers two versions of the design of above described device.
EFFECT: accelerated quenching, higher quality of springs.
