FIELD: heating, drying.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to drying of vegetable materials, particularly to vacuum dryers of intermittent operation, and can be applied for food product drying, particularly for drying of vegetables, mushrooms, fruit, greengrocery, etc. Energy-saving two-stage drying unit for vegetable materials includes cylinder-conic chamber for the first drying stage, sealed feed nipple, drum, insert of cylindrical profile, insert of conical profile, ball valves, cylindrical chamber with tight cover, inlets and outlets, vacuum locks connected to vacuum system serving as the second drying stage.
EFFECT: reduced specific energy consumption, improved efficiency of product drying due to presence of thermal accumulators in the first and second stage space.
