FIELD: testing technology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of testing materials and can be used in testing diamond ring bit for core drilling. Essence: on the housing of the bit the identical pairs of diamond-containing cutting sectors are formed, spaced around the circumference of the housing at an angle 180° to each other, and the height of each pair of sectors decreases along the stroke of rotation of the drill bit. The drilling of the flat surface of the rock is carried out under constant load and constant speed of diamond tool rotation with preformed cutting diamond-containing sectors. The rate of drilling is determined at achievement of the given value of wear on the time of change in the vibration spectrum, and the suitability of the matrix of diamond tool is determined. Achievement of the given drilling depth is determined based on the time of change in the vibration spectrum due to contact of pair of cutting sectors of the treated surface of the rock, smaller in height.
EFFECT: receiving reliable information for the short period of time about the suitability of the matrix of the diamond bit for drilling a particular rock.
