SUBSTANCE: diamond crown bit comprises a body and a diamond-containing matrix separated with washing slots into sectors, every of which is made with external and internal washing slots for the entire height of the matrix. The crown is made with additional washing slots that connect external and internal washing slots and have alternate height increasing from the external slots to the internal ones. Additional slots may be made with a cross section in the form of a segment, the area of which reduces in direction from the inner slot to the external one, at the same time their height may make 0.2-0.5 of the matrix height.

EFFECT: higher tunnelling and mechanical speed of drilling, improved cleaning of a face from slurry, matrix cooling.
