FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: course of piston groups travelling, the control system monitors the gas pressure values in that piston cavity where compression takes place, and basing on these values it develops an algorithm for closing of outlet valves at the end of the piston groups travelling so that the speeds of the piston groups at their arrival at the end points are equal to zero. Afterwards when the piston groups approach the extreme travelling points, according to the outlet valve closing algorithm, the control system closes the outlet valves. Pressure of the air compressed in the compressor cavities of the pistons is increased and thus resistance to the piston groups' movement is increased resulting in their slowdown and stop. So impact loads on the piston groups and cylinder walls are prevented. At the moment close to the stop of piston groups, the control system opens the outlet valves and simultaneously sends electric voltage pulses to magnetisation coils which are of the same sign this time, and the piston groups start approaching. At approaching of the piston groups, the control system acts as above.
EFFECT: prevention of concussion of piston groups against cylinder ends in any free piston machine, with no mechanical joints.
