SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to an image forming device in which a cartridge is detachably mounted, for forming an image on the recording material (medium). The claimed image forming device for forming the image on a plurality of recording materials comprises: a receiving part for accommodating a plurality of recording materials; the feeding means for feeding the recording materials from the end side of the said receiving part, and the cartridge support element provided above the said receiving part with respect to the vertical direction, and the said cartridge support element is movable in a direction perpendicular to the axial direction of the said feeding means, in the mounting and dismounting position where the plurality of cartridges are detachably mounted outside the main assembly of the said image forming device, and in the position of forming the image, where the plurality of cartridges is capable of forming an image inside the main assembly, and in the image forming position the side of the said cartridge support element, which is located opposite the other end side of the said receiving part with respect to the vertical direction, is below with respect to the vertical direction than the side of the said cartridge support element, which is located opposite the end side of the said receiving part.

EFFECT: providing an image forming device with reduced size by use of the dead space and providing a widespread application in an electrophotographic image forming device, and also to provide maintenance of the device by the user himself by replacing the cartridge and hence to improve productivity.
