SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a colour electrophotographic image forming apparatus, in which a plurality of cartridges is detachably installed in the main housing of the apparatus for forming an image on a data medium. Disclosed is an electrophotographic image forming apparatus, in which a plurality of cartridges are installed for forming an image on a data medium, wherein the electrophotographic image forming apparatus comprises: a cartridge supporting member movable between a position inside the main housing and a position outside the main housing in a state for detachable support of a plurality of cartridges, having electrical contacts for cartridges, wherein the cartridge supporting member is configured to move between a first position, where the plurality of cartridges are in an image forming position where the plurality of cartridges form an image in an inside position, and a second position where the plurality of cartridges are drawn from the first position in an inside position; and electrical contacts of the main housing, made on the main housing for the plurality of cartridges respectively, wherein the electrical contacts of the main housing move in a longitudinal direction of the of the plurality of cartridges together with movement of the cartridge supporting member from the second position to the first position and are electrically connected to the electrical contacts of the cartridges; wherein when the cartridge supporting member is in a first position, electrical contacts of the cartridges are directly and electrically connected to the electrical contacts of the main housing such that the main housing and the plurality of cartridges are electrically connected to each other.
EFFECT: designing a colour electrophotographic image forming apparatus configured to electrical connection of cartridges and the main housing without intermediate electrical contacts on the cartridge supporting member, while ensuring reliable electrical connection of cartridges and the main housing and accurate positioning of the cartridge.
