SUBSTANCE: process cartridge, which is detachably mounted in the main unit of an electrophotographic image forming apparatus, includes an electrophotographic photosensitive drum; a development roller for developing an electrostatic lateral image formed on said electrophotographic photosensitive drum; a drum housing which supports the electrophotographic photosensitive drum; a development housing which supports the development roller, where the roller moves relative to the drum housing between a contact position, where the development roller is in contact with the electrophotographic photosensitive drum, and a separated position where the development drum lies at a distance from the electrophotographic photosensitive drum; a force-receiving element which is movable relative to the development housing for receiving an external force, wherein the force-receiving element can take a working position for moving the development housing from the contact position to a drawn position while receiving the external force, and a waiting position drawn from the working position; a forcing part for forcing the force-receiving element to move from the waiting position to the working position; and an interacting part for interacting with the force-receiving element to keep the force-receiving element in the waiting position relative to the force of the forcing part.
EFFECT: design of a process cartridge, an electrophotographic photosensitive drum and a development roller which can be brought into contact with each other or can be separated from each other and which has considerably smaller dimensions than the analogue according to prior art, wherein the process cartridge is detachably mounted, as well as low probability of damaging the cartridge.
