The apparatus for monitoring the position of switch points and movable cores of frogs is mounted on a switch or frog and comprises, in a common housing, a mechanism for monitoring outermost positions with sensors, a composite control line or control lines. The control line(s) is (are) configured to move along a guide has (have) a rigid connection through control tension members with the switch points or a control tension member with the movable core of the frog.
