SUBSTANCE: invention relates to communication engineering and can be used in mobile communication systems. A base station is capable of performing cell search of all mobile stations having different frequency bandwidths for communication in a scalable bandwidth communication system to which a multi-carrier OFDM communication method is applied. The base station includes: a modulation unit (102) for modulating SCH data after encoding; a subcarrier setting unit (105) for setting one of the subcarriers to an SCH subcarrier constituting the OFDM symbol for SCH data transmission; and an IFFT unit (106) for generating an OFDM symbol. The subcarrier setting unit (105) sets one of the subcarriers having a frequency of a common multiple between the subcarrier interval and the cell search interval as an SCH subcarrier.

EFFECT: high transmission channel throughput.
