FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: treating female patients suffering from resistant overactive bladder and chronic cystitis is two-staged. The first stage involves a 10-day antibacterial therapy with an antibiotic preparation selected according to a microbial sensitivity as detected by urine examination in vitro and depending on whether the polymerase chain reaction diagnostics of urethral discharge shows a urinogenital infection to be stated. The second stage represents a therapeutic course involving 4 or 5 intra-bladder administrations of sodium hyaluronate 50 ml once a week. After unassisted bladder emptying and vulva treatment with 0.2% octenisept, the bladder is catheterised with a sterile urethral small catheter. After sodium hyaluronate administration, the patients are advised not to empty the bladder for 1 or 2 hours to prolong the preparation exposure.
EFFECT: method enables providing higher clinical effectiveness and prolonging the delaying time to recurrence.
