FIELD: physics, nuclear.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of nuclear fuel. Production of porous fuel including uranium and at least one minor actinide. This process comprises the steps that follow: a) compaction of powder mix to tablets containing uranium oxide and at least one minor actinide oxide. Note here that at least a portion of uranium oxide exists as triuranium octaoxide U3O8, while another portion exists as uranium dioxide UO2; b) reduction of at least the portion of triuranium octaoxide U3O8 to uranium dioxide UO2.

EFFECT: stable porosity under radiation.
