SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for producing a crystalline solid comprising 70 to 99.9 wt % based on the solids contents glycine-N,N-diacetic acid derivatives of general formula . In formula I R is Ci-C 30 alkyl and each M is independently hydrogen, alkali metal, alkaline earth metal, ammonium or substituted ammonium in the corresponding stoichiometric amounts. Storage under normal ambient conditions 25°C and a relative humidity of 76%, over a period of at least one day, preserved as consistency granules. The method is characterized in that at least one preferably crystalline compound of formula I is provided as seeds and then a spray granulation with at least one compound of formula I is performed.

EFFECT: claimed method provides production of a crystalline solid comprising 70 to 99,9 wt % based on the solids contents glycine-N,N-diacetic acid derivatives of formula I, with a sufficiently low hygroscopicity.
