FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to a method for producing a powder or granule containing (A) in the range of from 80 to 99 wt. % of at least one chelating agent selected from methyl glycine diacetic acid (MGDA) and its corresponding alkali metal salts, (B) in the range of 1 to 20 wt. % of at least one homopolymer or copolymer of (meth)acrylic acid, partially or completely neutralised with alkali, wherein said homo- or copolymer (B) has average molecular weight Mw in the range from 1,200 to 30,000 g/mol, determined by gel permeation chromatography and related to the corresponding free acid, wherein the percentages relate to the solids content of said powder or granule, wherein said method includes step (a) mixing said at least one chelating agent (A) and said at least one homo- or copolymer (B) in the presence of water, wherein a solution or suspension is formed, (b) removing most of said water by spray drying or spray granulation, using a gas with an input temperature of at least 125 °C.
EFFECT: technical result is reduction of yellowing after contact with chlorine-free bleaching agents.
