FIELD: packaging industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a package which is a secondary package forming a central cavity in which a plurality of products packaged in primary packages is contained. At that the package is a paper layer folded as pleats and comprises at least one mechanical seal compressing mechanically together a plurality of pleats of paper layers, the mechanical clamping is the only mechanism of connecting the adjacent compacted pleats. Also a packaging unit is described and a method of manufacturing such a package using forming-filling-sealing unit.
EFFECT: invention enables to reduce the manufacturing costs of package and to reduce associated greenhouse gas emissions while maintaining effective sealing of the package.
