FIELD: packaging industry.

SUBSTANCE: device (1) is intended for pumping of gas from package (50) in packing device, where package (50) has open end (55), having end part (54), non-end part (52) and intermediate part (53) located between end part (54) and non-end part (52) of open end (55). Device (1) comprises vacuum chamber (10) with elongated hole (14) extending along longitudinal axis of vacuum chamber (10), evacuation device configured to create inside vacuum chamber (10) a vacuum pressure below atmospheric pressure outside of vacuum chamber (10) , means (30) for moving package (50) relative to vacuum chamber (10) and control unit (60). Control unit is programmed to control means (30) for relative displacement of evacuated package (50) relative to vacuum chamber (10) and to actuate evacuation device to create vacuum pressure inside vacuum chamber (10). Package (50) and movement means (30) are located relative to vacuum chamber (10) so that main direction (40) of the movement of the packages arranged on movement means (30) and the longitudinal axis of vacuum chamber (10) are, mainly, parallel to each other. Evacuated package (50) is arranged so that during movement of package (50) relative to vacuum chamber (10), end part (54) of open end (55) of package (50) performs relative movement inside vacuum chamber (10), non-end part (52) of open end (55) made relative movement outside of vacuum chamber (10), and intermediate part (53) of open end (55) passed through hole (14) and performed relative displacement along its length. Device further comprises a first guide tape (70) extending along the length of opening (14) configured to contact intermediate portion (53) of open end (55) as it passes through opening (14) and having inner surface (70i) and outer surface (70o), and a first drive configured to act on first guide belt (70). Control unit is additionally programmed to control the first drive for movement of the first guide tape (70) in direction (40) of movement along opening (14) length. Outer surface (70o) of the first guide tape (70) is shaped to have recess (73). Device also further comprises a second guide tape (72) extending along the length of opening (14) configured to contact intermediate portion (53) of open end (55) when passing through opening (14) and having inner surface (72i) and outer surface (72o), and second drive configured to act on second guide tape (72). Control unit is additionally programmed to control the second drive to move the second guide tape (72) in direction (40) of movement along opening (14) length. Second guide tape (72) has the shape of closed loop passing around first and second deflecting rollers (103' and 108') and along opening (14) length. Group of inventions also discloses a method of packaging using a gas pumping device and a packaging device comprising a gas pumping device.

EFFECT: higher efficiency of packing products of larger size using a shallow vacuum system, applicable for products of various sizes, continuous pumping of gas and/or air from the package.
