FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: device contains growth chamber 1 with installed crucible 2 for melt with shaper 3, heater 4 of the crucible 2, screens 5, seed holder 6, device 7 for its movement, guide element 8 located at distance above the shaper 3, at that the guide element 8 has two or more free resting sapphire rods 9, their ends lay at bottom points of the grooves in supports 10 out of high-melting metal, located parallel to each other and jointed using studs and nuts, at that the growing fibre 11 is located between the sapphire rods 9 with possibility of their touching.
EFFECT: increased yield of optical fibres or fibres with increased strength, improved quality of the profiled fibre, simplified design of guides.
