SUBSTANCE: cutter comprises a body with a shank and feathers reinforced with carbide blades, the cutting edges of which are arranged symmetrically relative to the longitudinal axis of the housing. The front face of the carbide blades is made convex-shaped in the form of a cylindrical surface, the generant of which is parallel to the axis of the feather. The height of the convex decreases from the inner part of the feather to its outer part and constitutes 0.5 … 2 mm.

EFFECT: increase in cutting tool life, reduction of specific energy consumption of destruction through the contact stress redistribution on the front face of the cutter.
