FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to tyre repair and may be used for preparation of its surface for repair. A tyre is fixed to prevent its rotation, and its surface is treated by buffing. A mechanism is used, which stretches from the base, at the end of which a tool is fixed for buffing. The specified mechanism limits displacement of the tool within the specified buffing plane under manual control of an operator. The tool is moved within the specified plane for formation of a curved line in the buffing plane along the tyre surface. The specified mechanism comprises at least one hinged axis stretching substantially perpendicularly to the buffing plane, and a linear drive made as capable of controlling displacement in direction that is in general perpendicular to the buffing plane.
EFFECT: tyre repair is facilitated due to treatment of its surface before application of a patch.
