FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: proposed method can be used in onboard power supply systems, mobile power supplies and various stationary power supply systems. This process is based on generation of electron beam by electron gun from working medium pre-ionised by electric arc and partial power takeoff from electron beam with the help of virtual cathode collector for microwave generation. Remained electron beam is forced through virtual cathode axial opening. Then, electron beam is modulated and accelerated by electric field of operating frequency of microwave-traffic power supply system. Thereafter, electron beam is subjected to crossed electric field with radial component retaining said electron beam as-compressed. Note here that its lengthwise component decelerates said electron beam to convert its energy to equivalent electric power. Electron beam convective current is converted by full-wave conversion into electric circuit AC of power supply system in current resonance mode in operating frequency of microwave-traffic power supply system. Electrons worked in electric circuit are directed to electric arc cathode to recombine the cations to molecules and atoms of working medium to be ionised by electric arc.

EFFECT: higher power in microwave-traffic power supply system.
