FIELD: electricity.
SUBSTANCE: generator of chaotic radio pulses on a virtual cathode comprises a source of electrons made in the form of an electron gun, an electrodynamic system (9) with power output (11), arranged on the trajectory of the electronic beam (5), a header (12), the first (7) and second (8) grates arranged between the source of electrones and the collector perpendicular to direction of electrons beam movement with the possibility to form a virtual cathode (13) in the electrodynamic system between the first and second grates. The electrodynamic system is made in the form of a section of a spiral moderating system, the power output is made as a waveguide line of transfer, and the collector - as an electrode arranged at the generator's output. The source of electrons comprises a hollow cathode (1), filled with gas, making it possible to maintain glowing electric discharge, an anode of plasma discharge (3), an electrode (6) to ignite electric discharge in gas and an accelerating anode (4). The space of electrodynamic system is filled with neutral gas under low pressure, which ensures possibility to displace the virtual cathode from the space of beam interaction and its subsequent occurrence.
EFFECT: development of a controlled sources of sequences of chaotic SHF pulses on the basis of electronic beam in modes with formation of the virtual cathode.
